One Piece Swimsuits, a Bathroom Vanity, & Kids’ Games

Talk about nothing going together! This post is all over the place with a round up of top options for one piece swimsuits (under $100), our bathroom vanity plans update (eek-it’s happening!), and two kids games we’ve been loving lately (that the kids can either play alone or together- everyone literally wins!).

Swimsuits Under $100

Let’s start with the swimsuit round up. I’ve rounded up several options for one-piece swimsuits this season. They are all under $100. The majority of them are from the same store for ease of shipping and returns. Because, as much as I don’t love it, trying on swimsuits before landing on a favorite is a must. These all appear to cover well but are still stylish enough for this 40-something. Anyway, here are my top picks should I choose to go through the agony of swimsuit shopping again this spring. I honestly might call my current selection “good enough” but it never hurts to look.

Bathroom Vanity Update

After so.much.searching, the bathroom vanity for the beach cabin is coming together. I had no idea that bathroom vanities were so expensive! Aside from the vanity in this bathroom (that came with the beach cabin), we only have pedestal and wall sinks. The dresser that we were going to use in our current plans turned out to be a bit too short. So, I started down the rabbit hole that is facebook marketplace, our town’s garage sale site, and all of the big box stores. Then, I looked down our hallway at home and a bright light showed on my childhood dresser (kidding!) that we had been using as a linen closet of sorts. I grabbed the tape measure and low and behold it worked! Next, I set our vessel sink on the top… and it worked! Yay!!! Not surprisingly, the faucet I had ordered also came in the very same day and that worked too! Hip hip hooray! I quickly grabbed a small slab of our leftover marble and … you guessed it… that looked amazing too. The work I can get done at the eleventh hour shocks me every.single.time.

Kids’ Games

Card Games for Kids

While we love a good family card or board game (you can check out some of our favorites from last spring here), it is also nice when our kids can play a game together without a referee (me) or even alone. Gravity Maze has been keeping our 8-year old son occupied. If you have a child who likes figuring things out, marble runs, and/or building, this game could be a good match for them. The game comes with a grid and towers. The player chooses a card (basic, intermediate, or advanced) and sets up the towers according to the front of the card. They then refer to the card for additional towers needed. They need to figure out how to arrange the additional towers so that the  marble can run from start to finish seamlessly.

The other game that the kids pull out to play together or alone is Dog Crimes, a game in which you are given cards presenting a crime and clues to solve it. This is a follow up to Cat Crimes. So, whether you are a dog person or a cat person, you can be a crime solver.

That’s It For Now

Okay– that’s it for now! Thanks for sticking with me through all of the most random updates. Maybe someday these posts with be more concise and directed. Probably not.
