Friday Finds on Mackinaw Road: A Tool to Systematically Create a Capsule Wardrobe

Hi and Happy Friday! I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m interested in having a capsule wardrobe. In fact, I may already have one inadvertently in the works…I find myself wearing the same outfits on repeat. And yet random clothing lingers. I think that I’ve also mentioned that we live in a 1920’s house. That means limited closet space. We’ve done well managing this, but I still feel that I could really put more clothes in the donation pile. But, where to start?

A Tool to Systematically Create a Capsule Wardrobe

Herein, comes the new app, Cladwell. I love it. A close friend was telling me about the app and I thought it was the perfect solution to systematically creating a capsule wardrobe. I’m sure that there are features yet to be discovered but basically you enter the clothing you have (I started with just the basics) and it puts together an outfit for you everyday. If you don’t like the outfit, you can cycle to another one or you can change it based on what you have decided on for the day.

There is also a feature that tells you  (me) what your (my) wardrobe/capsule wardrobe is missing, which may (hopefully) lead to more systematic shopping (and less aimless wandering).

One of the capsule items that is on repeat this fall is this so, so soft sweater. If you are in the market for a sweater to add to your capsule, I would highly recommend this one. It also comes in black, red, and white. It has worked out well to wear the cozy sweater with jeans or these pants (similar) during the day and then switch to these slacks and flats/heels at night.

What do you think? Are you up for giving Cladwell a try? I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend! I’m planning on spending a lot of quality time with the family and this guy 🙂
