A Sangria & Brass Christmas

The Halloween decorations have been located and the weather is beautiful, so there is a good chance that is going to be happening now. But, to be honest, I’m already looking forward to Christmas. Our house won’t be decorated until after Thanksgiving, but that has never stopped me from planning. This could finally be the year that our living room is something other than red and green! We will see… a Sangria & Brass Christmas could very well be right around the corner.

A Sangria & Brass Christmas Living Room

It is always fun to browse Pinterest and to see all of the possible Christmas options. I love our calming living room colors… and usually just ignore them when I add in our traditional Christmas decor. Every fall around this time, I like to dream of incorporating the living room rug colors into the color scheme… I’m always tempted to add mint accents, but that would mean starting from scratch with the decor.

This year, as I was browsing different websites, I came across Christmas with sangria accents. This feels like a twist on the more classic burgundy decor. In fact, you may remember that I commented on how much I loved this skirt in the Fall Capsule Wardrobe post. And that it was difficult to find a dupe in that exact color but plenty of dupes in burgundy. Oh, the Christmas color foreshadowing lol.

Anyway, I rounded up some possible Sangria & Brass Christmas decor items. Of course, they are costly, so this will likely be a slow roll. But, oh how pretty!

Sangria and Brass Christmas

I can keep my shiny ornaments and green accents to fill in the gaps. I may also find a few more brass ornaments like these. And brass garland like this.

We currently all have embroidered PBK stockings. They are so sentimental for me but really no longer age appropriate. I like these for our daughter and myself and these for the boys.

I already have a tree skirt similar to this that I purchased last winter.

I spied something similar to these locally and think that they are a must for adding that brass nostalgia to a more modern color scheme.

I usually find my own ribbon and tie the bows to the tree; this seems easier and a sure match to the bows on the stockings.

I kind of love this pillow (or 2) for the boucle chairs. It’s a subtle nod to Christmas candies.

The older I get, the more I love the idea of a tree full of a photo frame ornaments. I have almost all the kids (nieces and nephews included) and am thinking about asking our parents for childhood photos of themselves to add this year. I love this unique shape in a classic finish. This one is really fun too and goes with my Sangria Christmas theme.

Not quite sangria but I do love these mulberry and blush ornaments. These brass bows are a nice nod to the bows on the girl stockings. Stripes, bows… add some polka dots… and now the tree has a lot of interest! Glass is always nice too!

A Navy & Red Christmas Dining Room

Continuing dining room brainstorm… Since all of the red ornaments will be going to the Dining Room tree this year, I think that I’ll add some nice navy (and wood) in there as well. I love this ornament. For the table, I will likely layer the table linens and chargers, etc. and then add in the dishes that I used in the Whimsical and Vintage Christmas Dining Room. Everything else is TBD at this point, but I’m excited to have some direction!

Stay tuned to find out if my October dreams become a December reality. In the meantime, you can check out last year’s Christmas Living Room and Dining Room.
