Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Timeless Classics

Hi and Happy Official Fall! I think I’ve mentioned this, but fall clothing is the best consolation if summer insists on being over. And it very much feels like fall here in Michigan. It is back to my cold weather uniform. As with the fall jacket options, this is meant more as a loose guideline for a fall capsule, some pieces you may have and others you may be interested in gradually adding. Whatever works for you as you create your own fall capsule wardrobe.

But first…

This is what I wore on the first day of autumn here in Michigan. The sweater is one of my all time favorite purchases. I was so happy that the jeans still fit (felt risky to go down a size but yay). And I always get compliments on these now classic sneakers. This isn’t an overly fall outfit, but, you know… baby steps.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe: The Essentials

Fall has to be the most versatile season as far as different fabrics and materials (corduroy, silk, suede, denim, tweed, leather, wool, etc. etc.). I think that this check plaid wool jacket would elevate almost any outfit. While there are a lot of silk skirt options out there, there is just something about this red-ish brown skirt that feels very polished. I would argue that no capsule wardrobe, regardless of the season, is complete without an oxford shirt. A corduroy dress feels quite autumnal- I like the higher neck on this one. These corduroy pants in the perfect navy blue would work for so many different occasions. Pops of burgundy such as the shoulder bag and Mary Jane shoes in this fall capsule wardrobe will last throughout the season and well into the winter months. Personal Fall Wardrobe

Thanks for sticking with me through that fun outfit puzzle exercise! Like I said, this is definitely a slow roll for me. Although not the exact items from above, I definitely have the sneakers, shoes, and boots covered as well as the button down, jeans, and sweater. This fall and because we have an event coming up at the end of the month, I ordered this dress. The rest will have to wait until next season. Good thing they are all such timeless classics!
