Boys Bedroom Dinosaur Edition

Boys Bedroom Dinosaur Edition

Good morning! I was planning on giving an update on our Boys Bedroom Dinosaur Edition earlier but then the middle drawer in our son’s dresser was stuck… and then broken… and then it sat on the bedroom floor for a good month while we tried to figure out how to fix it. Our son’s dinosaur bedroom has been a work in progress, taking several months to finish, but I think it was worth the wait. (Of course, about a week before it was finished, he informed me that he no longer is interested in dinosaurs and now is into LEGO Ninjago…. haha!)

Our son’s room has probably been the room to receive the most changes throughout the six years we’ve been at this house. The last update involved more of a lake theme. (You can check it out here.) Then, the Beach Cabin came, and that is sort of (obviously) a lake theme. We were even able to reuse the rug and a duvet cover from the old room in our sleeper attic, which you can see here. But back to this room. Since our son was super into dinosaurs and I loved the classic glacier stripe Pendleton pattern, I thought we could tie them together into a room that we would both love. Pendleton seems “west” to me and reminds me of Montana and Wyoming… And, did you know that dinosaur fossils have been discovered in both of those states? Having read what feels like all the books about dinosaurs, I am fairly confident that I can tell you anything you want to know.

The Quilts

But, let’s start with the Pendleton quilts. Did you know that Bed, Bath and Beyond carries Pendleton? I even used my 20% off coupons when I purchased these twin quilts! I love, love, love the wool blankets but also think that these are just a little more comfy for my sensitive skin kid.

The Prints

Another favorite addition are the prints above the beds. They are from Juniper Print Shop and were a great purchase. I love the bit of whimsy that they add to the room. The dinosaurs pair well with the ferris wheel, clearly “kid things” but in a grown up medium. You can purchase them pre-printed. The paper that Juniper Print Shop uses seems amazing and I would love to purchase the pre-printed art sometime soon. (They even have a great IKEA frame hack to add large art to your home. You can check it out here.) I noticed that one of my favorite printing companies was having a sale, so I ended up purchasing the downloads from Juniper Print Shop and printing through Mpix. I added the linen finish to go with the vintage feel we had going on in our son’s room. I also lucked out with a sale at Michaels and purchased the frames at 55% off!

A Few Additional Items

We added some new knobs to the dresser and a my husband made this fun little vignette using a few of the many dinosaurs lying around and a sign my mother-in-law had bought for our son.Boys Bedroom | Dino Crossing #boysbedroom

What else? Oh! The new rug is great too!!! It is so soft and stays in place. I think that’s about it! The photos aren’t great because it there was a downpour outside, and it was super dark. But then when it’s the least bit sunny, there is a glare from the photos. Oh well! Have a great rest of your week! I’ll probably be giving a screened-in porch update on Saturday or Sunday due to the previously mentioned rain storms. You can catch up and see my latest plans (I haven’t changed my mind in an entire week!!!) here
