November Updates: Thanksgiving, Gift Wrap & Spare Time

It has been awhile since I have given a monthly update. Below is a recap of Thanksgiving and look ahead to Christmas preparations.

Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We hosted 10 people and it was the perfect number. The sun was even shining, providing ample opportunities for football practices.

Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece

Thanksgiving Centerpiece Florals

For the centerpiece, I used some dried seeded eucalyptus, a faux eucalyptus garland, some dried greens/flowers from Trader Joe’s, and dried oranges.

Thanksgiving Table Setting

Because I didn’t have enough pumpkin salad plates or green floral block print napkins, I alternated the place settings. I also used my favorite Art Deco glasses for some added visual interest.

Thanksgiving Table Ideas

I made my grandmother’s green bean casserole again this year. (You can find the recipe here.) I also got texts from my sisters-in-law about the recipe and it makes me so happy that they love it as much as I do!

I’ve linked as many table items as I could here (some are similar/the same idea):

Gift Wrap

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to our favorite tree farm for hot cocoa and to get our tree. We miraculously found the tree quickly this year!

I’m hoping to share our house decorated for Christmas soon! This year, I’m trying to highlight the green and keep the red (but tone it down a bit). I’ve linked the ribbon I bought and some gift wrapping options below.

Spare Time

While the kids do not have a lot of spare time with sports, etc, I love that the holidays provide more opportunities for fun at-home activities. Our daughter and I attempted this gingerbread house. It turned out pretty well… and then fell apart when I tried to move it to higher ground/away from Crew. And our son and I are in the middle of a Gray Malin puzzle that I brought home from The Counting House. I love that Gray Malin’s puzzles are double sided! One side is matte and the other side is glossy, making it easy to tell which puzzle you are working on.

Short & Sweet

That is about all I have for the month of November. I have been in gift buying mode and have only a few more gifts to purchase!
