April Updates: Spring Planters

Spring Planter

Let’s start with the new planters! I love them. When considering various planters, I also really like the price! I currently have some rhododendron that I picked up at a local nursery (on one of my random day trips to the Beach Cabin to put 1001 white paint samples up). Michigan has been incredibly moody this year and this evergreen was a nice addition to the planters until I can plant some annuals (hopefully after Mother’s Day). At that time, I will move the rhododendron to our backyard or the beach cabin. (I linked a similar planter in white below as well.)

April Updates: White Paint

Speaking of the Beach Cabin, I have officially lost my mind. Over paint. Of all things. Who knew that white paint could be so stressful. And, the fact of the matter is that after all of this hemming and hawing, people are going to see a white beach cabin with no regard for this quest to find the perfect white exterior color.

That said, I am loving the Agreeable Beige. Probably just to rebel against the white paint. My second choice is likely Swiss Coffee. I’m getting ahead of myself.

White House Exterior Paint Options

Let me back up and catch you up. I was originally (ish) going to have the Beach Cabin painted a charcoal navy color. But then, the stain on the deck didn’t turn out quite how I had pictured. On top of that, we needed to have more trees taken down than we had originally planned. We don’t have air conditioning and are worried about the added heat that a deep dark color could add to our interior index. So, here we are.

My friend and the owner of West Egg Designs, created some mock ups for me with a few variations.

Here is the all white cabin…

April Updates: 007

Formal and Fun Dining Room Decor

While we are talking about obsessions, I have loved this Peter Ruck photography titled Shaken Not Stirred for what feels like forever. Growing up, watching all of the James Bond movies was a fun family pastime. This photo is a nice reminder of this tradition as well as adding a little fun to our formal dining room.

April Updates: Tween Spa Party

007 was put away for our daughter’s birthday. We did a spa party theme and borrowed all kinds of fun gadgets from my sister-in-law, including a Sharper Image Shiatsu Foot Massager, massage seat cushion, and foot soaker spa. I also purchased the items below.

April Updates: Book

I have a new Bahamas post coming soon! I mention this book in it. I loved reading it while in the Bahamas as it is one of the main locations in the book. The story takes place during WWII and involves the royals, spies, and some love stories. I was also fascinated by some of the history of Nassau of which I was unaware or only had a peripheral understanding.

April Updates: Sneakers

I ordered these sneakers for the spring. Of course, I accidentally ordered a men’s size 8 and was swimming in them. I just switched them out at the store and am excited to break them in soon.
