Good morning! With the unofficial start of summer this coming weekend, some fresh summer kitchen shelves at the Beach Cabin were in order. Keep reading for the details of our Summer Beach Cabin Kitchen Shelves.

I posted a poll over on Instagram earlier this spring, and while I can’t find the exact results, I believe that the Beach Cabin kitchen shelves won out over our Colonial Home shelves by just a few percentage points. Maybe we will have to do the kitchen shelves at home soon too. For now though, here are the Beach Cabin summer kitchen shelves styled via The Counting House with a few items that came with the cabin, some gifts, and, of course, our IKEA glassware.

Summer Cottage Kitchen Styling

Let’s start with the bright and airy corner pictured above. Timeless and modern all at once, the vase exemplifies our cottage goals. The fern is a lively addition that I pulled up from our garden at home to take this photo. They seem to spread very easily in our garden, so it was an easy and free way to bring some life into the space. The decorative, hand-carved wood tray is the perfect item to corale the french press and coffee cups. Our inherited blue striped pitcher holds the hammered copper and gold strainer, spatula, and ladle. I love how they reflect light and add a pop of subtle color to the corner.

The copper was repeated on the kitchen shelves through the hammered copper mule mugs, which help tie everything together. Next to the mugs is a beautiful photo of dune grass at sunset, a nod to Lake Michigan a short walk away. The round cutting board was a gift from a friend a few years ago. The bud vase helps add some dimension and is perfect for the wildflowers the kids periodically bring home. The sand finish on the vase seems ideal for a Beach Cabin.

Again, the plates came with the beach cabin as did the smaller pitcher. The IKEA glasses are still some of our favorites. The Getaway book seems fitting as the Beach Cabin is truly a “getaway” for us. The photos in the book are beautiful!

On the way in to the Beach Cottage, I stopped at one of our favorite bakeries for some “props.” Not surprisingly, they were gone quickly after the photos were taken. The Glass Cloche could only protect the baked goods from little hands for so long. The Cream Reactive Glaze Planter is both neutral and interesting with the calming colors and decorative knobs on the sides. I placed a jade plant in it, rounding out a triangle of green with the fern and IKEA glasses.

Okay- that’s it for now! I hope to be back soon with more Beach Cabin summer styling. Enjoy the long weekend! I am going to try to be a bit more active over on Like to Know It (LTK) with some Memorial Day sales and summer decor options. Because summer at the cottage always puts me in a coastal, Serena & Lily mood. Below is a wishlist from Serena & Lily for the Beach Cabin. (Items are 20% off this weekend with the code DIVEIN.)
